چکیده

Methods Ten HIV-1 ESN in HIV-discordant couples were enrolled at the Fann University hospital, Dakar, Senegal. Thirty HIV-1 infected patients (10 HIV-1 non transmitted partners in discordant coupes and 20 HIV-1 infected partners in HIV-concordant couples) and 10 HIV-negative unexposed subjects were included as controls. Levels of CD107a and b, and CD107a/b+IFN-g+ in CD8+ T cells sub-set were measured in fresh PBMC by flow cytometry, in the presence or absence of stimulation with SEB.

Social and immunological differences among uninfected Brazilians exposed or unexposed to human immunodeficiency virus-infected partners

Understanding the social conditions and immunological characteristics that allow some human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-exposed patients to remain uninfected represents an on-going challenge. In this study, the socio-demographic and sexual behaviour characteristics and immune activation profiles of uninfected individuals exposed to HIV-infected partners were investigated. A confidential and de...

Reference Values of Lymphocyte Sub-Populations in Healthy Human Immunodeficiency Virus-Negative Iranian Adults

Background: Lymphocyte subsets enumeration is considered prominent in the management of primary and acquired immunodeficiency disorders. Because of local variations due to race, age, gender, and environmental conditions on lymphocyte subsets, and to improve the accuracy of interpretation of laboratory findings, reference intervals must be determined in every population. Objective: To establish ...

Human leukocyte antigen class I genotypes in relation to heterosexual HIV type 1 transmission within discordant couples.

Differences in immune control of HIV-1 infection are often attributable to the highly variable HLA class I molecules that present viral epitopes to CTL. In our immunogenetic analyses of 429 HIV-1 discordant Zambian couples (infected index partners paired with cohabiting seronegative partners), several HLA class I variants in index partners were associated with contrasting rates and incidence of...

Low-level CD4+ T cell activation in HIV-exposed seronegative subjects: influence of gender and condom use.

Immune activation has been suggested to increase susceptibility to human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) transmission, while at the same time it could be deemed essential for mounting an effective antiviral immune response. In this study, we compared levels of T cell activation between exposed seronegative (ESN) partners in HIV-1 discordant couples and HIV-unexposed control subjects in Da...

An Efficient Method to Solve the Mathematical Model of HIV Infection for CD8+ T-Cells

In this paper, the mathematical model of HIV infection for CD8+ T-cells is illustrated. The homotopy analysis method and the Laplace transformations are combined for solving this model. Also, the convergence theorem is proved to demonstrate the abilities of presented method for solving non-linear mathematical models. The numerical results for $N=5, 10$ are presented. Several $hbar$-c...
